Nov. 2, 2013 Race Photo Highlights:
TN Race Timing, the TTU Drumline, and volunteers from the TTU Department of Chemistry all worked well together to prepare for the race start.
After the national anthem, the race started at 10AM with a BOOM provided by TTU Chemistry Faculty Member, Dr. Dan Swartling.
And they're off! We thank each race participant for choosing to support this event.
Excellent Professional Chip Timing provided by TN Race Timing.
(You may have noticed that the unofficial screen time was several seconds slower than your official time.
This is because the unofficial screen time began several seconds before the anticipated explosive start to ensure accurate chip timing.)
A few minutes later...
TTU Awesome Eagle encouraging 17 year old George Sampley toward a 1st Place overall finish time of 18 min 54.6 sec (a 6 min 5 sec pace per mile)!
Congratulations to 1st place female winner and 2nd place overall winner
Mary-Ellen Parsons with a new PR of 19 min 50 sec
(a 6 min 23 sec pace per mile)!
Special Stroller Division:
Pete (and Nicole) Ziegler finish strong with a time of 25 min 54.5 sec and this year's title of STROLLER CHAMP (1st male to finish pushing a stroller). In a close second place finish, Ben (and Jordan) Coonce finished with a time of 27 min 35.2 sec. Not far behind them was Cookeville Mayor Matt Swallow's family with a time of 30 min 26.4 sec in 3rd place in the stroller division. This performance earned Matt's wife, Kelly, the well-deserved title of STROLLER QUEEN as the first female to cross the finish line pushing a stroller.
