About the Event

The ASBMB Golden Helix 5K (3.1 mile) race is an open-road race; main roads are not closed (see course map). Walkers Welcome!!! A police escort is provided, and emergency services are on-call. The section of Stadium Drive between Prescott Hall and Sherlock Park (from 10th St. to University Drive) are closed for the start and finish celebrations. The race happens rain or shine; there are no refunds. Strollers are welcome and should group behind all runners at the start line. No pets allowed without a doggy bag. The 5K is a chip timed. USATF Certified Course #TN14097MS is timed for 70 minutes.  Lots of Prizes! Door prizes! Entertainment!

6:30 - 7:30 A.M. - Late Registration & Packet Pick-Up
Bathrooms will be available inside of Prescott Hall throughout the entire event. 

7:50 A.M. - Race Line Up Begins
It is advised that competitive runners gather at the front of the start line, while walkers and participants pushing strollers gather at the back of the start line.
Please ensure that your bib/time chip is pinned securely to the front of your shirt for visibility. 

8:00 A.M. - RACE START
The signaling of the race start will be designated by the sound of a carbide cannon.

9:15 A.M. - Awards Ceremony & Costume Contest
Prescott Hall Auditorim (2nd floor).  We ask that participants who wish to remain for the costume contest and awards ceremony be present until the end of the race, where we will conduct the ceremony.
If you intend on leaving before the awards ceremony and you do receive an award, then you will be contacted by the race committee with directions for how to pick up your award.
